So, you’ve seen the word “MEP” plastered all over the internet in regards to BlackBerry unlocking, and you’ve read the instructions on how to unlock your BlackBerry once you get your BlackBerry unlock code and noticed that part of the unlocking process requires you to type “MEPD”, “MEP2″ and sometimes “MEP4″. But, what does this all mean it?? MEP stands for Mobile Equipment Personalization and each BlackBerry is assigned 1 version of 225 MEPs and going. Each phone has 5 “locks” and usually at least one of the locks (the Network lock also known as “MEP2″) is locked. Some operators lock 2 locks (the Network and Service Provider also known as “MEP4″), a couple even lock ALL 5 locks and some don’t lock them at all. I've put together a guide from my own experience as well as things others have advised. With time, as I have new conclusions, I will keep this guide up to date. If you've enjoyed this guide, let me know in the comments! If you have any questions post those too and I'll be happy to answer them.
1. Credits If you're not planning on paying real money (as in using your credit card) for credits, conserve your credits. You'll want them later on in the game to buy weapons (some weapons are sold for credits instead of money). The game gives you free credits for downloading apps that appear in ads or in the free credits section of the store. Download these as you can accumulate a large amount of credits this way.
2. Weapons A weapon has 3 parameters that determine its ability to shoot down the bad guys -- wander, range and damage; bullet type; number of shots till you have to reload; and reload speed. Some have a scope and others do not.
Wander This is a number representation of how unstable your aim is. The lower the number the better.
Range How far you can shoot, obviously.
Damage How much damage a single shot causes to a target.
If you have to reload after each shot like with the Long Barreled Rifle, missions can take a while and be tiring.
Also consider the bullet type the weapon takes since some bullets are more expensive than others. Looking at typical payouts for missions available at your level, some bullets might not make sense.
In my eyes there's no sense wasting money or credits on weapons that don't have scopes as I have not yet encountered a situation where I'd like to shoot all over aimlessly rather then target and destroy.
3. Medkits and ambushes Medkits are pretty expensive; for that reason you should always buy the 20-pack which gives the most bang for your (pretend) buck. Sometimes you'll encounter an ambush and your health will decline more rapidly than you can handle the bad guys. You'll want to have a stock of medkits for those situations.
4. General tips
When reloading, always crouch! You can't get hurt that way.
When in crouching mode, you can control the zoom level of your scope; this can save a little time when your health is critical and you need to scope out enemies.
Don't waste credits on energy as it (obviously? not to some) gets replenished and you just need patience. Instead use them to buy weapons.
Pay attention to mission instructions: some missions require that you kill the boss first; others require that kill only one person. Some mission are not killing missions!
On missions that require only one shot, it's best to use the rifle as it uses cheaper bullets and your profit from the mission is higher, since these missions tend to offer lower rewards.
I love killing two guys with one bullet when they're aligned from my point of view; it saves you money on bullets, thus making the profit higher, and it's fun to feel like a master marksman. This can also be negative if one of them happens to be a civilian so watch it.
Notice that headshots give you twice the XP.
When two bad guys are aligned you can kill them with one bullet.
5. What to do if the boss escapes NEW From time to time you'll encounter a level in which the boss is quick to escape. This could be because he can see you right from the start and it scares him; you can remedy that by crouching until it is possible to shoot him. It might take a few tries until you get it right. Another reason for the boss to escape is that you're shooting at other, less important, baddies and that naturally draws attention.
6. Out of range killsNEW In certain missions you'll be required to kill from afar; this requires weapons with a range that is at least the minimum required for that mission. If you don't have a weapon that can go that far, you might be able to succeed anyway, but that's a gamble. What you should actually do is buy a weapon with a longer range for missions like that.
